C226 RSC - Dodge Commando
In 1986 Lothian & Borders Fire Brigade took delivery of this Commando G13 along with 3 others built by Walter Alexander of Belfast. This vehicle, along with sister appliance C227 RSC, was first stationed at the newly opened Tolcross Fire Station where it served for 6 years. The appliance was subsequently re-deployed to Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders in 1992 where it served the remainder of it's 'frontline' life.
In 2002 the vehicle was acquired by Edinburgh Airport Young Firefighters and remained there for 3 years after which the vehicle was taken into preservation.
This water tender can regularly be seen 'back in station area' when it attends events supporting the Museum of Fire in Lauriston Place, Edinburgh.
